The "Dart" had shock towers that rusted out and the one I was in didn't have seat belts when I went through the windshield.I liked the GTS 383 with a wedge, mild cam, garbage can headers, beefed up three speed auto.Gas cost 37cents a gallon,Pall Mall 35cent a pack,Miller tall boys $1.09 six pack .Kids got it rough today.

The thing is, is none of these cars carry the same ledgendary status as the Mustang or Corvette because the Charger, Challenge,r Camero and others went out of production. Even though they are made by the same manufacturers they are technically knock offs of the original product. Suburban, Corvette, Mustang, and the Ford F series truck are the only model names that can claim ledgendary status in the U.S. auto market

@JJohnston94. Yes, the 1963-'76 Dart is indeed a compact car. the mid size Dodge was the Coronet, and full size was the Polara. Look at side by side photos and you will clearly see the difference in sizes. Nowadays, the Taurus would be a mid size car, with the Crown Victoria being full size. With the discontinuation of the Crown Vic, the Taurus will likely be promoted to full size status. The sizes just keep getting smaller among all classifications now.
