Obviously, Mr Foley was determined to include the Nova on this list even after he learned the No Va story was an urban legend. Citing that Nova is a bad name because its the term for an exploding star is a stretch. The boys at Chevy in '62 might have pointed out the Mr Foley that a nova is also a source of enourmous power and that was the feeling they intended to invoke. Lame dude, just lame.

Really, you guys should do a story on stupid kids names not stupid car names. Most cars don't have to deal with the embarrassment of being a teenager with a ridiculous name.(o.k. maybe the Probe does) Somebody needs to intervene and stop parents from naming kids stuff like Jermichael, TaRhonda, and Makynzi.

I had a Cavalier many years ago and never gave much thought to the name. Those were some of the most reliable compact cars you could buy at the time. They were nearly bullet proof and I never knew anyone else with one who had problems either.
Not to mention that value was incredible. When I bought mine, the neighboring dealership had a comparably equipped Civic for SIX THOUSAND $$$ more. Pricing wasn't nearly as competitive back then. Even with a slightly lower resale value, I was till way ahead when I sold that car.
