They forgot to include the wheelstanding event at Byron Dragway outside of Chicago. Wacky!

If the hill climb at Chimney Rock, NC was still running, it would have to be included, since it had something like 13 turns in little over a mile. Everything from go-karts to Shelby Cobras ran the course, but Formula Vees and Porches did very well. Rocks and trees lined the course, so missing a turn could get quite expensive.

Well, I don’t know about "wacky" but if you want to know what the absolute stupidest motorsport is I would have to say it’s the NASCAR Truck Series. I mean what exactly is the point? Pickup trucks are inherently the worst handling vehicles on the road and in order to make them race worthy you have to make such drastic changes to the vehicles chassis and suspension that you are basically driving a car with a fiberglass shaped pickup body slapped on top of it. Why would you want to drive a racecar that was made to superficially look like a truck? If that isn’t stupid then I don’t know what is. In fact probably the only motorsport that is stupider is drifting. I’ll admit its fun and in fact when I first started racing back in the 70’s I would sometimes drift around the course just for the fun of it. You won’t win any races doing that though, unless you are on a dirt track that is. Drifting is not racing it’s exhibition driving (translation; showing off). Its also a great way to wear out an expensive pair of tires in one afternoon. You might think I would be a fan of drifting as a sport since I can do it as well or better than anyone out there but I’m not. I just think doing it as a competition and not just for fun is retarded.

I have been to one nascar event and will never go again, who wants to watch cars run in a circle all  day long.  It's like tennis but louder.
