One mark of a cult is that members go to extreme lengths for their object of worship, be it a domineering religious leader or, more benignly, a 1957 Chevy. For car fanatics, the venerated and sought after is often arcane — a Ford Pinto, an AMC Gremlin, a Toyota Cressida. And keeping these beloved vehicles running can often cost zealous collectors tremendous amounts of time and money — sometimes even a pair of pantyhose. "They're willing to ignore quite a few flaws," says Alan Galbraith, the director of the Concours d'LeMons tour and car show, which celebrates the odd, the ignored and the mundane in the automotive world. With Galbraith's help, we've compiled a list of 14 cult cars cruising American roads today.
