Car auctions? are you really that lazy, or just a putz. Try vintage races, any type of race really. More participants, less snob appeal. Road America has over 600 cars for their vintage race in July. Le Mans 24 hour race, Formula one & Indy 500. Get off you butts & skip the car shows & auctions!!

I see some negative posts for my comments for the BACK TO THE BRICKS auto show in Flint Mich. May be it is because it runs at the same time as the WOODWARD DREAM CRUISE in Detroit Mich. Also maybe it is because a lot of the cruisers have left the Detroit show and are now attending the Flint show.

My son, Ralph Thomas, a champion vintage race car driver, was one of the organizers of the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance at the Ritz Carlton, shown in photo #2. He also holds the world's land speed record for his car class. He's a fine driver and a gentleman, of whom I am very proud.

you missed a big one. Flint Michigan has one of the biggest auto shows in the country. It is called The Back to The Bricks show. The show is now gone world wide. It runs for a week in august. It has cruses three to four nights about 12 miles with vendor stops along the route. The show also has top flight shows in the downtown area. In 2012 estimates were 2000 autos and half a million spectators attended.
