In July 2010 "Battle of the Supercars" (episode 3) They ran a Fastlane tuned Camaro, Turbocharged and allegedly having 1000 horsepower, against an Autograph Shelby Mustang, also a claimed 1000 horsepower. The top speed run, at the "Texas Mile" course allows a 1 mile standing start race with miles per hour recorded at the end. Roush is fine...where is Shelby in this grouping???
The Mustang won with a 190.2 mph run. The Camaro managed a 189.4. Bear in mind this was only a mile, not 5 miles to accellerate, and that these cars were basically stock except for the engine tuning. And also keep in mind that they were only in 4th gear (2 more to go). Tuners have to have something to work with. The following week a race between a Ford GT and a Lamborghini ended with the Ford way ahead and the Lambo spitting it's over-rated engine all over the track. How do you say "blowed it up real good" in Italian. Talk is cheap. American cars get it done.

I find a LOT of errors in the articles that MSN Autos writes, but this one I cannot let go by without a correction; RUF is not a tuner, but rather they are a fully accredited manufacturer. While RUF does tune Porsche 911s, the car shown in the article, the RUF CTR3 is an original motorcar completely manufactured by RUF, and not in any way is it a tuned, modified or converted Porsche, and no, it is NOT based on a Cayman. It is an original design by and for RUF Automobiles, Gmbh.

This is just a matter of personal preference, but I really don't understand the current trend of putting black wheels on everything. I think the cars shown with black wheels would all look better with either polished aluminum or chrome wheels. Perhaps I'm just showing my age. Just my opinion.

BMW's inhouse "M" group, builds a better car than the dinan. the super lite M3 GTS is a serious automobile. and what's up with the racecar, audi has a lot of tuners out there making street cars, not racecars. can you not find one of those to give us an apples to apples comparison. Mr Tate, i have defended you on these pages before, but sometimes it seems like you put up nonsense just to get us started. do you get paid a bonus for number of responses?
