OK--what have these MSN writers been smoking? Sure--the Countach had its faults, but in terms of image, power, and so on, a heck of a car. And the Viper?? Yeah--I'm biased since the Viper's my favorite car. Still, the original car wasn't about electronic "gee whiz"--it was about putting raw power to the pavement and smoking the tires all day. Both these cars/brands have become ... more ... civilized since their early days, but they have to start somewhere. Ya missed the target on these two, MSN.

These articles do amuse you sometimes. The Delorean was never considered a Super Car, Unique in it's own way, But a different category all together and the Movie "Back to the future" couldn't have saved the company, It came out 3 years after the Company went bankrupt. The movie did help to make the car famous though, but I am a little biased, it's a great car.

Once again, a pointless article that honestly, didn't make much sense to me. You guys obviously missed the mark when it comes to marketing and brand image. Automobile manufacturers often build cars such as these to build the brand, set an image, or even to improve racing opportunities. my guess is no one thought about any marketing efforts for this article. Four observations you obviously didn't understand....
1) The Lamborghini Countach. This was a monumental car for Lamborghini and singlehandedly elevated the brand. Lamborghini has reaped the benefits of this car to include an expand product line. This car also led to the Countach successor, the Diablo. This car sold for 12 years and made a top 10 sports car list for the 70's and the 80's.
2) BMW M1. This is a present day collectors car. As mentioned, the car brought about the BMW M division, which expanded BMWs racing program throughout the years and brought about an enviable car performance status in the M product line that other cars still try to catch to this day. You also have your history wrong. BMW commissioned Lamborghini to produce this car and they could not, so BMW built this car itself. This car also made the list of the top 10 sports cars of the 70's. Niki Lauda even drove and won in this car in 1979.
3) Dodge Viper. I have driven a couple of these and I agree this car is a vehicle just waiting to get its rear end slammed into a wall (common problem for Viper owners due to loss of traction). A modern day muscle car lacking control and refinement. I think there are more capable choices and sales of the Viper in it's final years will minuscule, but it was still a huge car for Dodge in image. MSN, you missed the mark on this one. The Viper isn't even a super car in my opinion.
4) Ferrari FXX. This was never meant to be a production car. It is simply a race car for this who can afford it. Pretty clear here you completely missed the call on this one. You can't even rely classify this as a production car as the numbers are so low. Far from a bad car. I think you missed the point.

If any owners want to give these horrible cars away, just let me know. I'll take any of these monstrosities with the exception of the Covini. I'm beginning to lose what little respect I had for the writers here.

Possibly the Writer keeps his job by flaunting his gayness. Giving the bosses a worry about discrimination if they fire him. A powerful car like the 92 Viper needs "electronic babysitters" to be driveable? Maybe for your maiden aunt, there Kyle. You're saying you need it to gain another 400 pounds so you won't be scared when the deal goes down. Back to the LeCar for you.

DeLorean was cleared of the cocain charges. Unfortunately, clearing his name bankrupted himself and his company.

@r : Ya dude the VIPER??!! I want whatever their smoking. Obviously we now what kind of people they are, the know nothing about cars people. Everything they said about that viper is awesome!

Agree with the above. The SLR McLaren doesn't belong here either. For me, "worst" has to include serious design flaws, mediocre performance, poor build quality, and wretched reliability. The SLR, Viper, and Countach don't possess all of those. DeLorean? Sure, a poster child for bad supercar. But not the SLR...I rather like the face; I bought an SLK with the same looks.
