Calling for less reliance on fossil fuels, he swapped his fleet of conventional cars for hybrids. He's also the voice of a Public Broadcasting Service series on green design. He has worked with the environmental organization Global Green USA on the redevelopment of post-Katrina New Orleans, and his Make It Right Foundation is building 150 houses in the city's decimated Ninth Ward using green technology and materials.
