"These compact sedans are about as nice inside as a U-Haul"
Ummm, yeah that's a bit of an exaggeration unless you drive a Bentley every day. The interior is quite average, but the seats and suede + STi gauges are much nicer. /minirant
And most of these cars are either:
1) Expensive exotics that offer AWD
2) Plain daily drivers (300c, Mini) that have an AWD option.
For snow, I only trust Subaru's Symmetrical AWD and Audi's Quattro system

I continue to read these posts, but this is one of the most ridiculous I have ever read. Just because a car has all wheel drive does not mean it is anywhere near a qualified winter car. An Audi RS5, Bentley continental GT, Nissan GT-R? Are you guys crazy? Most of these cars are bloated machines with excessive power. Granted a GT-R is at the top of my short list for my next car, but it will never touch snow. And if you're going to list a BMW 335 x-drive, try showing an actual picture of the car and not a rear wheel drive BMW M3.
I think the biggest challenge is your grasp of news titles. Never have I heard "sporty" used when discussing a Porsche or Ferrari. Next time try "performance cars with a winter bite". It's not really that hard.

like i'm gonna spend as much money as most of these cars cost to go play in the snow with it? i guess these guy's that write this crap have to have something to spew. i use to drive an 01 cobra (2 wheel drive) in the snow all the time and NEVER got stuck. and, i had fun. who the heck can afford these cars to play in? get in the real world.
