When I was a sr. in H.S. I bought a new Chevrolet SS 396 for $4000.00. That was in 1969. To buy the equivalent to that today youd spend 40K. I worked a swing shift in a factory for 4.00 per hour in 1969. How many factory workers do you know that make 40.00 per hour? Wake up Americans, your being had.

i sure wish these car reporters/journalists would come down to earth.  Most of these cars maybe 5% of the population could truly afford.

Dont think people didnt notice MSN, that 74% of that list were overpriced cars that the average working man will not buy, and yea we noticed you only threw a few undercost cars in there so that we might not notice >:/

What happened to the "66 Chevelle SS" 396 (I bored 40 over), with T-10 transmission, and 3.56 to 1 posi third member, a convertible no less (lower center of gravity). A State Trooper in California told me one night he knew he couldn't catch me, then told me I had to of been driving well in excess of 150 MPH. It seems I kept tripping his Vascar Radar at 145 MPH, he said as soon as he took his finger off of the reset button. Who-woulda-thunk a poor white ol' country boy from Kentucky could put such a car together on an Airmans pay. In 1973 it was done for less than $600.00. Only in America folks! I'm 60 now, however, I'm starting to feel the need, the need for speed! lol   A moment on the lips, forever on the hips, and also, Once it gets in your blood, it does not ever leave!!

Yes, it is true that the majority of Americans cannot afford to buy a new car. Can I? Yes, but I will not support the greedy bastards that have priced vehicles so they are out of reach.

In 1962 I bought an E Type coupe. Why? Because it was a beautiful piece of art. Nothing, nothing looked like my Jag! This new Jag looks like a piece of crap. It is NOT a never will be a repeat of the classic E. You guys know nothing about the cars of the 60's,  you only wish you could have experienced  living then. Individuality was the word!!!!
