No new truck is WORTH the money they're asking for them.  These trucks should come w/ bathrooms & a kitchen so you could live in them since they cost as much as a mortgage in some states.

1st Chevy PU 1989 put over 300,000 miles on, great truck! 2002 Toyota, 3 rears, 2 transmissions, 1 transfer case, sold it with 80,000 miles on it.  Current Chevy PU 226,000 miles and counting, all original, just maintenance... been across the USA coast to coast 9 times, but o yeah, Chevy trucks are no good...  I just laugh when I see those Toyota commercials on TV.

Let's Get the record straight. Do you remember back in the 1960's when we were the worlds largest steel manufacturer. Then our government closed our steel mills. Now we import our steel from Japan. This drastically increased the sale price of American cars.

European and Japanese cars were arriving in the U.S. by the boatload, at prices way below American cars. (Importing steel is expensive.)

Foreign manufacturers convinced the American public that we didn't need big American cars with their high performance motors.

The first American cars to vanish were station wagons.

Americans started buying smaller imports. This change-over cause the unit price of American cars to increase further.

It also cost Americans their jobs.

Then in the 1970's our Government decided that import cars had an unfair price advantage over American made cars. The Government made laws to bring up the cost of imports closer to the cost of American cars. Creating larger per unit profits for imported manufacturers. Remember that they weren't importing steel.

Did you ever have to wait months for replacement parts for your foreign car?

Import manufacturers created the SUV to fill the void that station wagons once held. They sold like hotcakes.

American manufacturers had to play catch up in the SUV market. More steel was imported from Japan, Causing the per unit cost to increase even more over imports.

Now we buy imports that are throw-aways after 150,000 miles.

My eight year old Ford Ranger has over 200,000 miles and still runs strong, but the drivers seat needs reupholstering.

Buy American. Spending a little more for your car can mean more jobs for Americans.

Over the years i have owned nothing but Ford's.. F150's and F250's, all gas. I have driven  and been a passenger in many other models, buddies owned of course. And I will never own anything less than a ford, I currently drive a 97 F150 that has 170,000 miles on it,, it always starts and runs great, my F 250 has 169,000 and is nothing but a work truck that haul's/pull's in excess of 5 tons on any given day. Both are 4x4's and you just cant beat a Ford for quality, reliability, power and performance. With regular maintenance like one should perform you will have a long lasting truck, ya just cant beat a good thing.

Petty simple...never buy a Toyota!  The Tundra is not even on the list and the Tacoma is on the list, but way overpriced.  Toyota can continue to lie to itself, but the American consumer knows better.  Go get a Ford or GM for the trucks or the Dodge HD... Best trucks in the world!

I don't understand how you can call a Tacoma a quality truck. They have the worst rust problem I've seen in my 33 years in the car business! Toyota recalled most of them because the frames were so badly rusted that the trucks were not safe to drive! Tacoma's are JUNK! Go with the Ford or the Nissan if you need a small truck. The Chevy or the Ford will be best in the full size catagory. Stay as far away from Toyota as you possibly can in the truck market.

My neighbor had his GMC 1500 gas V8 for 260k; I've had my GMC 1500 gas without trouble.  GMC still offers a work truck with crank windows, rubber floors, manual locks, floor shift for 4WD, and cloth seats.  It's a truck and does what trucks do; pulls, pushes, and carries.  The price was better than the imports and they're proven.  If you want the best search around and buy American!

somebody said all foreign car companies have plants in US but all parts are shipped..haha, im a diesel tech i work for an american truck company ,, it makes all techs laugh when we get the 80% of parts with a sticker that says : harness made in mexico ,water pump made in china ,steering box made in brasil ,vietnam , malaysia usbekistan etc .im not kidding. i dnt care what country makes what truck, since a can remember ive always owned toyota trucks i never had problems with them maybe   ive been lucky.(u gotta take good care of em of course).  i wont buy something that spends half of lifetime in the shop. just to clarify 7.3s are good 6.0s and 6.4s are not too good its not a FORD thing , it is a HIC (international) issue , good thing FORD its puting its own diesel engine on its new2010 superduty f models.
