Most people don't know how to drive.  Their mental capacity can't handle the multi-tasking portion of it.  When you couple that with the other distractions people allow themselves behind the wheel, it's really dangerous.  Revenue takes precedence over safety............all the time.

Being a transplant here in Minneapolis, I can say that folks here just don't know how to merge onto freeways. Having said that, they aren't any worse the drivers in anywhere else I have lived. Over the years, I have learned to wait a second or two before I pull out into an intersection after the light changes.  The first one out is the first one to get hit.  The biggest hazard these days are folks who have a phone up to their ear and therefore have lost the ability to turn their heads from side to side.  Just invest in a blutooth - it's cheaper than your deductible!  Then there are the texters who don't realize that the light has changed and then, when they do come up for air, pull away like the devil is after them.  Then they slow down and meander around several lanes when they go back to texting.  The cops here say that texters drive like drunks.  I can really see that.

I think it is funny that they quoted Cincinnati as the 10th worst, and Cleveland as in the top 2 of cities without road rage. There are only 10 people left living in Cleveland. Of course their is no road rage....lol

I live in the suburbs of Detroit.  It is irresponsible to write that 14% of Detroit drivers admit to flipping-off other drivers.  The number of people who DON't flip off others is more likely 14%!!  :)  Also, I would peg the number of days I see people on their phone or texting while driving is close to 100%!  Sad, but true!

In the future, vehicles will be mounted with howitzers so that the knuckleheads will think twice before going out on the road and being a menace.  Nobody will dare be on their cell phones, or putting on their make-up or going 25 in a 55 - they'll be too scared and alert, else they'll be road fodder.  This will take care of the congestion on the freeways and interstates for sure.

All these foreign people come over here and still think they rule the road.....They are not over whereever they are from, but still we make it easy for thenm to get their D.L......If our own kids have to pay 600.00 plus for drivers ed and they can't even take the knowledge test at 16...They can only go through the school which cost an arm and a leg........Make better choices people and politicians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What about the ego-maniacs in their expensive cars/SUVs here in the DC area? I've lived in CT, TX, Los Angeles, NY and, by far, the worst drivers I've encountered are in the DC/MD/VA area. yuck...

I live in CT, and we have the whole no cell phone while driving, etc...  but when the cops do it more than regular people, how can they uphold that law.....simple...they don't.  This leads to distracted drivers.  Now I have been riding a motorcycle for several years now, I was hit once, and had countless other close calls, simple because people cant stop for even a second at a stop sign, cant use signal lights, all because they are on the damn cell phone....  I am one of those HOT heads who does a lot of yelling and screaming in my vehicle and I am always getting yelled at by my fiance for it, but it is the only thing that stops me from pulling someone out of their car through the window by their nose and stuffing the cell phone so far up their a** that every time they cough it will call someone....  Try driving from Bridgeport to New Haven on I95 or from Stratford to Oxford on RT8 just once and you will see what I mean.....  And nevermind the side roads....

note to the becoming a police officer comments. I believe that as a driver no matter what speed you are driving if  you know the rules of the road, and you move out out of the passing lane if someone is coming up on you as it was intended for,  there should be no issues. Its the people who do not obey the rules of the road that are the problem creators.
