Not only does that scion not resemble a CHEVY El Camino, it doesn't look like it could get over a manhole cover.  Why build a pickup look alike that isn't built to haul itself.  Might be popular in east L.A.

Are you kidding! Just when you think there couldn't be an uglier vehicle than the stock Scion, The  Brandon Leung Scion xB appears! Where are you going to drive this? indoors? In the highschool gym?  An insult to the El Camino (and anything else on wheels). I've seen hand trucks with better lines!

What they're trying to say about the Pontiac "El Camino" is the now dead(obviously) plan to bring over the Holden Manaro Ute, badged as a Pontiac. Kinda like what they did with the G8. I have heard a rumor about the G8 becoming a Chevrolet Caprice, so maybe it could still happen as a Chevy?.....Yeah, I know when monkeys fly out my.....

I'm so sorry for your failures in life there "sosadtobeanamarican" . But I too was educated in America (TEXAS to be exact) and I actually studied in school. Don't blame the teachers if the student was too lazy to learn what information they were handing you on a silver platter.  by the way, if you had an ounce of brain power you would have at least noticed the "Spell Check" button at the bottom of the comment box. By the way, in the SEMA descriptions for the scion pickup article, the El Camino was built by Chevy not Pontiac.

To "SadToBeAmerican",

Wow, God forbid you take any responsibility yourself for your lazy lifestyle. Maybe you should travel to those other countries you laud before you form any comparisons. I have been through 57 different countries and the US is a far more accepting and noble country than any of those you describe. Most tourists never see the real side of those countries because they only skim through hitting the most popular areas the respective government protects to keep the tourism dollars coming.

Well I was thought by American teachers, if I don’t know how to spell and my grammar sucks I owe it all to people like you and this “awesome country” besides if I hit a nerve it is only because you know there is some truth to my comment and it upsets you when Americans like us is uneducated and doesn’t know how to spell or have a poor grammar due to American teachers that doesn’t care about their own American people, you are right I suck at spelling and my grammar sucks as for being a complete moron well that I must’ve gotten from people like you that is one other terminology that suites well with Americans and I for one, and you being another I agree the being moronic is a part of being an American. Again my taste sucks because I am an American but thanks to some of my foreign friends from all over the World like Italy, France, Brazil, Australia, Austria, Spain and even Africa they are more open minded then all the Americans I have been friends with yes we Americans like you put it are Morons, doesn’t know how to spell and our grammar and tastes sucks but only because we don’t open ourselves to the rest of the world, there is more out there that we Americans are kept from and that is called being open minded to the rest of the world because as you put it us Americans are Moron, don’t spell and our grammar sucks. But I for one I am whiling to change and I am doing so I just got my GED thanks to the AMERICAN EDUCATION it took me 25 years to get my GED but I am happy one thing I still have problem is that American teachers still don’t know how to spell, their grammar sucks and they are view from the rest of the world as imbeciles to be able to get a GED in this country with a minimum of 2,250 out of 4,000 it is a disgrace it is sad that us Americans are viewed like you yourself put it in big bold letter Mr. or Mrs Sublime40oz and I quote “COMPLETE MORON” you right we are and will be until people like yourself instead of bashing your own kind, took a different approach and be more understanding and help your people instead of bashing us Americans because of a comment about a car manufacture. As for my thoughts I am entitle to them and I am proud recipient of my GED in which unfortunately but with high hopes that one day I will be able to witness American became a Great Country that it once was… Now Mr. or Mrs. Sublime40oz, go right ahead and bark some more so we can let our viewers know that we are not only Morons, bad speller and don’t know our grammar we can also bark like dogs and act as well… Have a great day Mr. or Mrs Sublime40oz don’t go to harsh on yourself watch out for your cholesterol along with those cans of beers that is not good for us Americans. Sick

It's kinda like Tammy Fay Baker, if you remember her. Someone spent a lot of money to transform ugly into butt-ugly.

I may not be the first one to point this out, but the El Camino was a Chevrolet, not a Pontiac, so a future El Camino is still possible (although how desirable it would be is another question all together).  Kind of makes you wonder just how poorly qualified you can be and still get a gig doing automotive reportage for MSN . . ..

incorrect statements, where do you get this info... from shelbyss?

GM has already settled and is recovering, GM already showed profit for the quarter.

Fiat purchased Chrysler not GM.

I have a GM vehicle, i have no recalls.

shelbyss = epic fail

My first impression was that, anyone that could compare this Brandon Leung Scion xB abortion (slide 9) to an El Camino must be a moron.  And as I read further the writer confirmed my suspicions.  I assure you that the death of Pontiac will have absolutely no bearing on wheather or not there is ever another El Camino built.           El Camino was always manufactured and marketed by the Chevrolet Division, GM (as in bow-tie).  Never Pontiac Division, GM!!!
