Interestingly enough,my Ford Ranger is "numbered sequentially" and "built from the frame up",like the 1.5M Newell coach. I feel better already! :D

One thing you find out very quickly about Wally's Airstream was there was NO WAY you could tow it with a Bicycle as advertised. They were made like a Brick Outhouse to last Forever but, they sway back & forth when towing unless you installed sway bars on the hitch. We have had two Bambi's (18') and they are HEAVY. Only way to go is the smaller "Canned Hams" as they can be towed by a small foreign car or classic car or wagon with ease ( most are 1275 lbs). See one at www.classicdreamcars.com and scroll down to "Inventory". If you use the potty the smell takes over in the cabin so, you end up using the bathroom where you're staying anyhow. The 'canned ham's' were easy to park/store, sleep 3-4 and now come completely electric (even the restored one's) so, you eliminate the danger (leakage/ explosion) of LP gas. The old one's even had beautiful Birch paneling, whitewall tires, classic old appliances and were surprisingly comfortable. Thanks for recognizing these old Tin Can's.

My wife and I own a 1972 Airstream. It's a 31 foot rear bedroom style. This thing is in mint condition and I don't know of any other campers that could last this long and still look and function as well as this Airstream. You can see it at:   miraclerecordingstudios.com

That is a great pic.  My Uncle was the first dealer of Airstream Trailers for Wally Byam.  The store was down on San Fernando Road in Glendale, CA.
