I've got a `06 Suzuki GS500F that averages 60mpg, as long as I ride conservatively. I'll stick with that, until it no longer runs.

Pocket rockets are mini bikes.  Only sport bikes are called crotch rockets. Do your reasearch before you post something that's gonna get you on the front page of MSN.

I LOVE my 2012 Suzuki DRZ 400S.  It gets 63 mpg and is a great dual sport machine.  It's my daily commuter and with a very few changes like Kenda 270 tires, Hand Guards, and radiator guards it's proven itself to be a worthy trail bike.

I got a 2012 Suzuki DR 650 last summer and it is an outstanding dual purpose bike. Had the itch to go off road and my Goldwing is just a tad bit squirrelly.

Wow slushbox transmissions in motorcycles.  It is a motorcycle people. If you can't bother to learn how to clutch and ride a bike safely and using all of your hands and feet you shoudl not be on teh road. Of course the only execption os for someone who physically cant operate all the controls due to a handicap or injury. Motorcycles are amazing and fun and ride mine year round expet when there is ice on the road. I encourage everyone to ride but if you are physically capable and chose to be to lazy to learn to use a clutch on your bike, you should stay in a car. (where you are probably too lazy to learn to use a standard mission also).   Again if you are not physically capable of riding a standard bike by all means an auto trans bike is a great thing. ( two shops in my area have modified American V Twins for injured veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan) .  If most people could get out on a bike or a horse I think they would be much much happier.   No way to have a bad day on a bike even commuting to work.

Wow!! Now I'm gonna say that some women have told me the effect is simialr, CROTCH ROCKET is slang for a BIKE. POCKET ROCKET is, well, NOT slang for a bike.

That is the ugliest collection of motorcycles I've ever seen. I hate to say such a mean thing because I'm sure they are practical, effecient, and economical but, heavens to betsy they are nasty looking. I think what is most incongruous with their styling is the design nod to real racing motorcycles. These are not racing bikes so I think their styling should reflect their pragmatic purpose. To me, that's like putting racing stripes on a lawnmower.

Best inexpensive new motorcycle I've owned was a 1991 Honda Nighthawk CB750, Retailed for $3995, got mine on sale for $3695. Fast, comfortable, 70 mpg (no BS), installed a painted to match Targa sportbike fairing on it, and had the nicest styled stock factory Enki wheels I've ever seen on a bike.
