This line-up is a joke...  at best.  There is very little admiration for any American cars built in the '50's through the '70's.  There are over 50 cars from those eras that could easily make the list!  This article smells of European douche-bags...   just saying!

How about the original Datsun 240Z - great lines and best selling Japanese sports car ever for good reason. No 1969 Camero? No split window Corvette? No first gen Mustang Convertible?

Looks like a list of european snob cars nobody could afford anyway....

Sexy cars from the 60's and 70's when designs were original.. come on people.

1956 Ford Thunderbird and the 1953 Buick Skylark. These cars were uncopied until the  year 2000 past. I have to go with that record. They were so sexy they came back 50 years later.

I love the Corvette. I admit they had a period in the 80's or so that wasn't so sexy, but they were always absolutely beautiful and sexy before and they have been since...

I have to go with the 427 Shelby Cobra.  If this isn't one of the most popular cars of the past, then why are there so many replica manufacturers?  Check out the web site for Superformance, one of those manufacturers.

Mine is a MK3 with a Roush 427 and I love it.

Yeah, I can see why all of these cars were chosen. The average American sees any of these cars at least a couple of dozen times a day-right? These cars are always going through the Barret Jackson type auctions-right?

Only rich people and dreamers covet these cars. IF you have some serious cash, you might own one of these new or used.  I can see my local credit union gladly loaning me $150K to buy a nine year-old European exotic with no reservations whatsoever!  Some people might be able to own a 15 year-old Porsche 911, but not many of them could afford to repair it or insure it. That was one of the cheaper cars on the list! I am not in the 1% or even the 5%, so these cars are mental masturbation at its finest to people like myself!

What the average American lusts after are the common American autos because they might actually have a chance of owning one some day. The '57 Caddy convert is almost as rare as these 1 of 50 or 1 of 12 exoticas.  They must have screwed up letting that one or one of the rare and original 427 Cobras on the list! What about the Mustangs, Chargers, Challengers, Cudas, Super Birds, Camaros, Vettes, Chevelles, Firebirds, Goats and other domestic "trash" that these morons didn't put on their list? How about a '57 Chevy or an antique pickup or a Thunderbird? Why aren't they on the list-they weren't sexy?

In my half century, I saw one (1) '57 Caddy convert at a car show, in all the car shows I have been to. Other than that, I have seen a few Porsches and a couple of Jags on the street and some Cobra clones at shows. That's about it. This list doesn't get my blood boiling, because I have never even seen most of these cars in person and never will. The mention of them doesn't get my blood boiling because they may as well be on the moon. I will never see one, drive one and least of all ever own one. People who own the cars on this list don't even live on the same planet as the rest of us. They are less likely to give two craps about sharing them at a show and they are now investments, not transportation or toys that they will take out and play with. Who cares? They may as well have put all Duesenbergs and Auburns on the list.

Can you say this list is WORTHLESS!!!!

What about Julian, cruising around in his black Mercedes-Benz 450 SL in "American Gigallo?"

Nothing with more sex appeal than that.

All this is about is expensive over rated foreign iron that most people never see let alone own.   To me the best of the bunch is the Caddy, I remember a friend owning one and it was a very cool car.   How about some of the early Sports cars like the Austin Healy, very sexy looking car, or the early vette,  I had a Mustang 429 Cobra jet with the shaker hood which was very cool, and all affordable and real cars.

Audi R8 is the sexiest car I've ever seen.  An aside to the editors:  If you only had room to show 36 pictures, couldn't you at least have photographed 36 different cars?
