MSN Auto's must get a big kick back from all these foriegn car companys
I've been in the auto industry for 30 years and know there are domestic vehicles out there with
excellent fuel economy
We have a 2002 Chevy Impala that get's 29-31 mpg on interstate at 65 mph with 135000 miles on it, and it's full size car.
You guys are way off the mark on the 2003 Jetta! Mine routinely got 48-51 mpg - COMBINED, except for sub-zero weather. It would go from mid-thumb in MI to Boston on not quite a tank of gas (about 730 miles). Hated to get rid of it at 280K, I still miss that car! The 2010 TDI that I replaced it with more accurately reflects the ratings you gave the 2003, and I am fighting to get that... big disappointment.
