You left out the brilliant idea of building vehicles in Canada and Mexico and still calling them American.  Will North American do?

Amongst the other inaccuracies in this article,  catalytic converters do NOT reduce carbon in the air.   not even close.    Where did your writer get such a crazy idea??

catalytic converters make nitrogen molecules out of nitric acid and those ingredients by splitting away the Oxygen and they oxidize the POISON CO, carbon monoxide,  to make carbon dioxide, CO2, a pollutant but not a poison.

Why would you write a car article with such strange errors related to generally known automotive information?

"as early as 1899, Clyde J. Coleman applied for  US Patent 745,157 for an electric automobile self-starter" (wikipedia) (and what about Bendix that made the starters effective?)

Your article about the car air-conditioner doesn't match the advertisement about Packard's being "in front of the firewall". Your writer said it was in the trunk.

Please, could you get a car person to write a car article?

No wonder your articles push really ugly European brands as "the best",  you don't know cars nor the really simple "everybody knows that!" information on them.

Here's one...do you know WHY the Model T was BLACK in production models except the earliest?   Because India Black paint was the FASTEST drying paint and other colors were too slow for the production line.

I just love the modern conveniences added to our new cars, but with all the "gadgets" requiring use of hands on your dash (not to mention GPA, phones etc!) why in the heck can't they put the light dimmer switch BACK on the floor for your left foot to operate!!

Actually, Henry Ford did NOT invent the moving assembly line. Ransom E Olds did, but Henry did perfect it.

The rear-view mirror first used on a car was the Marmon race car that won the first Indianapolis 500, and it was used to reduce the car's weight. The Marmon "Hornet" [the newspapers called the Wasp, a short word for the headlines] was built for the driver only. Marmon Motor Company was in Indianapolis; Indiana had as many auto makers as Michigan and thus the Speedway track was built as a proving ground as well as race track. If your writer had done a proper web search [as I did] he would see that the Texas-based Marmon that was mentioned was a successor of the Car company cited above and it built trucks from 1963 to 1997. The original Marmon (founded in 1902) that sponsored/built the winning race car was a high end maker of autos.

Nash Kelvinator (American Motors) didnt invent air conditioning in cars, but it perfected it in 1954. All components were located under the hood and was intrigrated with the heater. This reduced the price and it became afforable. This system is used in all cars today.

the Model T Ford had an ignition key in 1908 to 1927 than the Model A also had one in 1928 to 1931 and all fords after that, but they did have some type of push button to activate the electric starter

"I was enjoying this article, until I came to the automatic transmission.  Automatic transmissions are the reason our roads are so dangerous today.  If you do not possess the physical dexterity to operate a clutch and a manual transmission, you should not drive.  Peroid." I assume then that you do not own a washing machine. "Those that cannot wash their clothes by hand don't deserve to wear clothes" by your logic. Wouldn't having your hands free from shifting make it safer? Manually shifting has nothing to do with speeding, drunk driving, not watching the road, weather, etc.
