what  a joke. when you pay nearly 100k for a hybrid it should get 40 mpg minimum. the mercedes s400 gets 25mpg hwy. you can get chrysler 300 limited luxury gas engines that perform better. guess what 9/10 people wont know you are drivng an expensive car, so in the end you will impress few if any by spending the big bucks.

I agree, My Honda Civic got 45 MPG back in 1980. I think 75 MPG is not too much to ask.

Why do I get the feeling the Porsche Cayenne e-Hybrid, Audi Q5 Hybrid, Porsche Panamera S Hybrid, Mercedes S400 Hybrid, Lexus LS 600h L, Infiniti M35h, Fisker Karma, Cadillac Escalade Hybrid, and BMW ActiveHybrid 7 were all put on this list to make the Tesla models look good by comparison? I bet I know who paid for this advertisement.

Here’s my deal. 75+ mpge, a 300+ mile range, and a price tag under $20k. Let me know when you have it and I will buy. Until then, my old Jeep Wrangler will suits me fine.

What's the point ? None of the cars can be afforded by the 99%. Maybe a few of the upper middle class will probably afford the lincoln mkz hybrid ($35k) but if i had $35k i would choose another car.
Not a single car in the list (Except for mkz) is below $50,000.
This list was made for the super rich but the msn autos editor just wanted to rub it into the faces of us poor people.

too bad the Ford Fusion and other lineups of hybrids don't have a better sized trunks and interiors.  I was certainly read to buy one, but at 6' 2" cannot fit into the back seats.

If Ford turns the Taurus into a PHEV, they will hit a home run.

The only one of these I would consider would be the Lincoln MKZ, but, my 7 year old Ford 500 LTD gets 26 mpg city and 31 mpg highway, with 93,000 miles on it; done it since it was new.

Do they still cost twice as much to make as they are sold for with the difference made up with government subsidies?
