Kia has always gone a somewhat unconventional route promoting its Kia Soul, itself an unconventional crossover. And given that the SEMA show is all about the over-the-top wildness, the five, music-inspired 2014 Kia Souls at the Korean brand's SEMA stand looked right at home.
From built-in amps to BBQ grilles, the funky mix of Soul concepts touched on multiple musical themes.
DJ Booth Soul
Kia left the hamsters at home, but if they were here, they would no doubt be head-nodding in the purple DJ Booth Soul, which is exactly what it sounds like, a DJ booth on wheels. The roof was cut out and the rear seats were removed so the mixmaster at the controls can stand up on a diamond-plated stage and spin the tunes. Outfitted with all manner of Pioneer sound equipment, the DJ Booth Soul rolls on 19-inch BRU wheels and an Ark Performance spring kit helped get it lower to the ground. Take it from me, this is one loud booth.
Vans Warped Tour Soul
The Vans Warped Tour Soul is a celebration of the music and extreme sports festival that's been rocking since 1995. The tour has been a hit with the hip youth set, thanks to its usually edgy artist lineup and synonymous with the legendary Vans brand. The Warped Tour Soul doesn't need no stinking windows, instead it features 8-inch Infinity speakers all around and is spayed in a multi-color paint job with artistic airbrushed flourishes designed to evoke the tour's aesthetic.
Apparently food is a big part of any Warped Tour (who knew?) so a grille was installed in the rear cargo area to allow you to get your grub on. A 50-inch monitor is installed at the top to play Warped Tour artists, it rolls on 20-inch wheels, and a sweet Vans hood ornament adorns the hood.
