Jaguar has stolen the show here at the Frankfurt Motor Show with its stunning C-X16 sports car concept, which points toward a future model that would take on the Porsche 911. It is not only gorgeous to look at, but packs in lots of cutting-edge technology.

The C-X16 concept is a gasoline-electric hybrid that offers both searing performance and incredible economy. Add the ability to drive in zero-tailpipe-emissions, all-electric mode and you have a segment buster.

2011 Jaguar C-X16

What is it? A 2-seater rear-drive sports car with a 380-horsepower supercharged V6 engine and an F1-style kinetic energy recovery system. It has a Push to Pass button on the steering wheel for a 10-second boost in power.

What's hot? Performance is superb; the 186-mph Jaguar C-X16 can hit 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and charge from 50 to 75 mph in just 2.1 seconds. But it also averages 41 mpg and emits minimal carbon dioxide. Amazingly, Jaguar says these figures are conservative.

What's not? The Jaguar C-X16 has not yet been confirmed for production.

How much and when? There are strong rumors here at Frankfurt that the production version of the Jaguar C-X16 will arrive within a year. Prices should start from just over $80,000.

MSN Autos' verdict: Stunning looks and brilliant technology combine in a show-stealing package.
