My 1995 Chevy Blazer has over 337,000 miles on it.  My husband has kept it up. By now I would of bought a newer vehicle, but she has been so good to me, that I refuse to give her up. I bought Her in 1997 with 42,000 miles on it, and have never had a problem with her...She runs like a charm and would probably cry when I did have to say goodbye, but for now, I take good care of her...

When I read about "quality gas" I have to chuckle. As one that delivered fuel to various station, I can tell you, no matter what the sign at the station, the gasoline comes from the same storage tank.

It's true that Shell did add an additive, but as  the others, it was exactly the same. Oh, and  the additive was only for he premium grade.

My advise, buy where it is cheapest, but never buy when you see a delivery being made. This stirs up the moisture in the tank and can get into the car's gas tank.

My Honda Civic has 397,997 miles and going fine.  The muffler hangs down a bit but the AC still works and the car is used every day.  So, 250,000 miles sounds bad to me!!!  If you take care of it, it will take care of you!!!

Extended oil change intervals are somewhat misleading.  Time between changes was not even considered?  Engine oil should be changed after one year regardless of mileage. Synthetic oils may go an additional 3-4 months, but not much more than that. Changing your oil is a relatively cheap process, so it's not worth it to stretch out the intervals to save a couple of bucks.

2002 Monte Carlo SS with 278000 miles and never had motor or transmission opened up. Replaced air conditioner at 9000 and alternator at 190000, 2 body control modules and the high beam turn signal control arm. Daughter still drives it every day and granddaughter will take it over in March.

Guess they don't make'em like they used to. Got a 95 Geo Tracker that's on 290000 plus right now. Original engine still kicking strong.

There is a new waterless coolant that will last longer than the car and will not corrode aluminum.
