I think it would be cool to see a representative picture of the original car next to "Hot Rod" rebuild.
Having been an avid hot rodder for 30 years it's refreshing to see they found a writer with good taste. The biggest draw to hot rodders is not the big National Shows, but the small town and local shows that showcase the ordinary guy. The guy/gal that builds his/her car with their own two hands, not the ones that build a car through their wallets. I don't like looking at the trailer queens, I like the cars that are driven to and from the shows. The ones that their owners can tell you about and take pride in talking to the spectators, not the clueless ones that bought their car and have no idea how it was made.
I am not a purist, who cares what engine is in a car. Get a life, it's the car owners choice as to what engine powers what. When you foot the bill for the powerplant then you get to say what goes in there.
Or...you could have gone to the "Back to the 50's" car show at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds that features 12,300 cars 1964 or older. Don't let the 150,000 spectators bother you.
