The only real pickup trucks are built by Ford, GM, and Chrysler. The Jap "trucks" are nothing but poor copycats that couldn't pull a greased string out of a cat's butt.

I love how slide 3 has a picture of a Chevy but advertises a Dodge Tradesman.

More bad advice from MSN - For 15-20K you recommend the Toyota Tacoma. I had one and got rid of it because of the poor MPG. Best was 19.4 MPG which is bad for a 6 cyl cab plus when many full size V8 pickups beat that. Most full sized pickups (reg cab) 2 wd can be had for under 20K too. So once again MSN has not done any real statistical homework here. Sad because it's one of the best Automotive sites for many informative subjects, just not buying advice.

There is only one American Truck left, Ford... Gm took the bail out and really did bail clear out of the U S and now has 9 plants in China, 2 in Mexico and 2 in Iraq. R & D also moved to China this year and they have left over 100,000 Union auto workers out of a job. Thank You Obama and GM.. Would you really want to reward them with a new truck purchase ?

if you want the most truck for your money buy a low mileage certified pre-owned. You'll save a fortune and end up with way more truck than you would have otherwise been able to aford

I highly doubt the person who wrote this owns a truck. If you are going to buy a truck buy American. I would never buy a Toyota knowing its the same company that makes the Prius. I personally like the 90' series Chevrolet. All of the new trucks are built like the cars with plastic.

Where do these Auto (cough-cough) journalists, get their pricing info ? You can get a Chevy full size PU Crew Cab/ auto/ V-8 for 23,000$ all day long. A Ford F-150 is about 2000 $ more, with the same equipment as the Chevy. A Dodge goes for roughly 1000 to 2000$ less than the Chevy.

Now, I had to go thru a lot of trouble to get those prices...............I had to read Sunday's paper. LOL @ MSN.

I've been a using a truck as a workhorse for 50 years, ford trucks have been my choice after trying all the other brands. I prefer 1 ton dually's with the largest engine possible and the extended cab. I usually purchase a demonstrater that was driven by the manager and have had very good service. I've owned a 66, 68, 70, 74, 78, 84,89, 92, 94,98 2003,2004, 2008, over 3million miles never a major breakdown, usually a flat , one time a water pump on the 84, but over the years I traveled to every state in the union some 3 & 4 Times, snow, rain, wind, mud, ice, -30 % in Northen Cal. been through Canada, Alaska my trucks were fittrd with welding equipment and I always carried a load and a lot of times towed a 36 ft flatbed with me. I can say that ford has been a excellent work truck.
