Why do you complain about the cars being expensive?  It's an auto show!  If it were full of Ford Fiestas and Toyota Yarises, no one would even show up.  I, personally, like looking at the Beautiful new Ferrari 458 convertible.  If you don't, then why read an auto show article in the first place?

Concept or Dream Cars as they called them back in the day, are flights of fantasy from the design staffs and engineering departments of auto manufacturers. They are a sales gimmick. I find it interesting that the "concepts" that were shown in the mid sixties from minds like Meade, never showed up on the streets...even though we were promised they one day would.

The daily driver cars we all own, are what the insurance companies will allow us to drive, which is mostly boring junk. Anything too exotic, or too ungodly fast, the premiums you have to pay to drive it, are only affordable to the filthy rich.
Isn't it also interesting that auto mfg's keep touting faster, quicker, more technically advanced cars, with more and more electronic distractions, to drive on the same roads and surfaces that have been around since the early 1900's!  This is why there is no where you can safely drive a Ferrari or any other exotic at 200+ mph... so what is the point of car that can go that fast? It is just an over priced, rich mans gewgaw!

To me, a car was and still is a self propelled, wheeled carriage and cargo carrier.  It should be basic, reliable, cheap to buy and operate, easy to repair...and last for at least 20 years.

An automobile as a status symbol is a morons idiotic idea for someone who has the personality of a toad.
Chicks that drive old pick-up trucks ROCK!

Beautiful...Marvelous...Technical marvels!  All made of almost 100% Unobtanium/Expensitanium alloy, and will never be seen in showrooms actually for sale in any form remotely resembling the concepts...Too bad, but the automakers continue to presume the car buying public wants look alike econoboxes...Sheet metal must be stamped regardless; give us some kick for our bucks and actually build some of these designs in affordable models!

That FT-86 II looks like a fart-can ricer. What a shame, it has so much potential to be a really beautiful vehicle.

I hope Ford Evos makes it into production, but with one of the Ford Duratorq diesel engines. What a beautiful vehicle!

I am a GM guy and I love the Ford Evos concept.  Would even buy one if it had a V6 turbo or a V8

Porsche is a Porsche is a Porsche. Different year same car. I guess they save money by not hiring a design team.
