As a kid my father had a 1973 Dodge Adventurer with the Club Cab and jump seats. He placed an aluminium camper topper on the back and built a frame from angle iron in the bed that supported a mattress on a piece of ply wood just above the wheel wells. This allowed for luggage storage under the "bed" and room for the four of us (Mom, Dad, brother and I) to sleep. Not very comfortable but very functional. 318 cid V8 with a 4 speed manual transmission. Many long cross country road trips and family vacations were had. Mechanically speaking it NEVER failed. In the late 90's is finally went to the scrap yard because it was more rust than truck by that point. It would still start, run and drive under its own power the day we took it to the junk yard. Seeing that picture brought back fond memories of childhood.
