I recently had the need to drive up into the snowy, icy Arizona mountains. When we got to a secondary road off the I-40 the situation got a little dicey. It started to snow/ice and the dirt road I was on, became a terrible mess. To make matters worse, we were at altitude.......meaning to much drift to the right...and it was a long, long way to the bottom. We had to check on a sick friend, so I kept going. Thank God, I was in my Honda Ridgeline. They just seem to be made to handle, exactly that kind of situation. I plowed up that road with nary a hitch. I was completely confident in it's abilities....and it didn't let me down. We got to our friend, and got him into town, without an issue. When we got to the bottom of the mountain...we were met by a DPS officer, who told is.."This road is closed" He commented on my Ridgeline when I told him, I had no problems making it to the top.....He said, "I know, That's what I bought my wife to drive" There are a lot of negative comments on here about the Ridgeline......But I love mine, it does what I need it to do, safely, comfortably and reliably. What more can you ask of a vehicle? Is it a rock jumping, trail busting Off Road vehicle...No, it is not. But can it get the job done, when you have to handle icy slippery roads....It sure can.

Blatant paid advertisement for the Buick LaCrosse, among others.
No Jeeps on the list. Odd , since the Quadra-Trac equipped Grand Cherokee is probably the most capable snow vehicle available in the U.S. , and has held that title for over 20 years. Several other Jeep models should certainly be on this list, as well.
Obviously , the folks at Chrysler/Jeep elected not to purchase ad space in this "news article " .
Not so great job of disguising paid advertisements as some kind of factual "best" list, MSN. I hope nobody uses this misleading fiction to make a buying decision when shopping for the "best" snow vehicle.....

I have been driving a subaru since 1989. They are great cars, but one of the major design flaws is that the wheel wells PACK with snow. In the colder climates, the snow does not melt out, just freezes to a solid block of ice where the tire is literally touching the snow, and binds the struts. Great cars if you don't get one with the internal head gasket leak problem.

Most of the articles on MSN dot com are advertising gimics, for companies that spend the money to market their products on MSN.
You want part time four wheel drive or a Subaru for city and hwy snow, and full time four wheel drive if you live in the country.
AWD with traction control and stability control, means that brakes will be applied to the wheel that is spinning and that no more than 20% of power will ever be transfered to a 2nd wheel.
