A '63 split-window would be my choice.

As a 2008 c6 owner I find comments by so many people here just plain B.S. While it is true the earlier ones had quality issues, I think what they are missing is the fact that corvettes just keep improving. Management has now figured it out that this is the car that will not make them tons of money, but just like the space program had trickle down technology enter the mainstream. What they learn on this car will help make the volume cars better. One thing still holds true, you will have to spend at least twice the money to get the package you get in a modern corvette.

I love the early vettes, the C1 and C2. But for the later models, I've always been drawn to the smooth, flowing lines of the C5.

I much prefer that to the angular, boxy look of the later versions.

I've loved Corvettes since seeing my first one in 1957, the '62 model year being my favorite.  Not sure I'll ever be able to afford one, but happy to see them on the road and in articles like this.

I love the 66. Had a 68 but nothing but problems. We got rid of a 66 to buy the 68. Big mistake. Have a 66 now. Love it!

The C-2 the author referred to (1963-1967) is a span of five model years, not four. Ihad a red 1965. Not with the big power, but I did love it so. It was a 327- 300hp. No power. No air, coupe. All car.

The article said:

"Generation C2: 1963 - 1967"

"The C2 is the shortest-lived generation, lasting only four years."

Hmmmmm... 1963,1964,1965,1966,1967. I count five years there.
