I wouldn't believe Consumer Reports if they told me the sky was blue.  When Ford had a problem with the exploding tires, no fault of the car, they almost put Ford out of business with their reports.  When Toyota was recalling cars a couple of years ago for all kinds of problems, they still rated them as number one.  These Toyotas have all but fallen out from under their owners in the last few years and they are still number one.  What do the Jap cars have to do to get a bad report from them?  Any "American" who reads C/R should go live in Japan.  George Washington once said, "the quickest way to destroy this Republic is to allow foreign influence".  I believe we are well on our way.  Most "Americans" today want nothing American and everything foreign.  If they could buy a foreign house, they would because Americans probably can't build one of those either.  Check and see what Consumer Reports says about it.

Toyota has had THREE major recalls (as in more than one MILLION cars) since October of 2012. Not a single American car with floor mat issues or sticking throttles. GO USA! I love my CAMARO!

Seriously?  I personally own a Dodge pick up which I love so I am sure all the Ford owners would disagree with me on what is the best pick up, but I am pretty sure we can agree on one thing.  The Chevy Avalanche is in no way, shape, or form the best American made pick up.  This entire article is
discredited with that one pick.  What a joke.

Hybrids are for people who are bad at math...
Calculate the small amount of fuel savings over the mileage driven for the time you own it. In most cases, the savings will be less than the premium you pay for the hybrid over the gas-only highest-mpg model available. You also have to account for the lower resale value when a smart potential second owner considers the cost of a possible battery replacement.
I'm not saying that the Fusion or C-Max are bad cars - far from it, they both are terrific cars; they should just be considered in their gas-only versions.

this is B.S.... highest scoring from whom? I own an avalanche and it's electricly falling apart... and did you see some of the warranties... a whopping 36 months OR 36,000 miles... I am sure they are all nice cars if you drive them as much as Jay Leno drives each one of his daily...what B.S. !

Though I do not agree with many of these picks, and I acknowledge that many foreign cars are built in the U.S., and that some American cars are assembled or have parts from other countries, I do give some credit for printing an article about American nameplate cars.  But I also agree with another poster who noted disparaging remarks about nearly every American car shown here.  Consumer Reports is obviously biased against American cars, using terms like "rarely the top of their class", "adequate", "less impressive", "decent", "fit and finish could be far better", "less impressive", "needlessly complicated", "lacks agility", of "handling is sound but sloppy", and they should just stick to reviewing refrigerators or toasters since they know nothing about cars.

If it's the best then why is it being retired?

F-Series, baby!  #1 for 30 years!

The Chevys don't play pick-up; they play catch-up!

For once CR got it somewhat right. Guess Toyota, Honda & Nissan didn't get they're checks in fast enough this time. ;)
