I have to once again question CR. I know 6 people now that own 2012-13 Ford focus hatchbacks and sedans. Including myself, 7 people. No failed transmissions, no transmission problems.. Yes, reprogramming was needed, now all is fine. This is a false statement by CR about Ford focus Transmissions...

If you can afford a Tesla. Fine If you cant and you are buying one because of the mileage,,,, Consider this....At 90mpg you use about 166 gallons of gas per year. based on 15,000 miles Sounds great Right? Consider this ..buy an average mileage car getting 30 mpg for $30,000.You will use 500 gallons. The tesla will save you about $1500 for gas 334 gallons x 400 gallons. No thanks i will keep the $60.000 in my pocket. 40 years is a long time to get my return... Maybe you can fool some other financial whiz with that fuzzy math. If I have 90 grand to spend on a car i will buy a viper. economy is not an issue.at this point

I believe Consumer Reports is a 100% owned subsidiary of Tokyo, Inc. Their opinions are meaningless to me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Consumer reports recommendations = low credibility. Great info for the Camry and Accord crowd. Useless for an enthusiast.

You're not staying with the script of Top American Picks. In this article we don't care about your opinion of the BMW or the Honda van. Beemer builds nice cars. But stay out of the way as it approaches end of warranty. How can you back a car that is rated one of the worst pre-owned vehicles to purchase. I'll prefer the domestic vehicles for the same reason I pledge allegiance to the flag. Where are you guys from?
