This is a piss poor article meant to promote the vegetable cars of today that don't "make a statement" but do "make you laugh." Prius? Really...Smart? Pathetic.
Let's see....Cars that make a statement...and some may be duplicative of Statement, but damn sure better than most of these, minus possibly the Mercedes and the Yukon...
1: Bugatti Veyron GS...HELLO...at 2.5 million per...NO car list of "statement" vehicles should exist w/o this at the TOP. Such an IDIOTIC article otherwise.
2: Mustang GT - Not only is it ICONIC, it's damn damn fast for the price, want super fast for price...upgrade to Shelby GT 500, and FEW cars at any price come close.
I could list several other cars, but the fact that neither of these, but a bunch of "putt putt" machines are listed...shows how pathetic this article is and shows that it is nothing more than MSNBC's continual attempt to LIE and change history with IDIOT writers that don't have a damn clue.
I guess you COULD list Smart car as making a "statement." Statement is "I wanna look stupid in a clown car and don't have enough sense to know how dangerous this damn death trap really is."
That's the ONLY statement it makes...
The Volt cost $45,000! That's not easy on the wallet. Oh yea, it cost $90,000 to make, the tax payers got stuck with the rest of the bill. I can't wait to see what the next four years will be like.
A V-6 Mustang sent to Shelby U.S.A. to become a GTS will get over 31 mpg, have 475 hp with the supper charger and STILL cost $5000 less then a Volt. And it's a F-ing SHELBY for god's sake! Any woman who goes for the guy with a volt over the guy with a Shelby...well she doesn't shave her arm pits and probably smells bad anyway!
