This article is a waste of time and I feel dumber for having read it.

GTI for a High School graduate? Starting at around 25K, you guys are out of touch with most of America. Look up the income demographics and target your subliminal message where it makes more sense.

This was one of the stupidest articles I have seen about cars.  I hope you didn't pay very much for this nonsense.

What a STUPID article!

Am I the only one who noticed that ALL of these vehicles are NEW?

How about:

1st car: USED 12 year-old 1950 Ford 2dr Coupe?

2nd car: USED 8 year-old 1955 Chevy 2dr Coupe?

etc.

etc.

etc.

Apparently, MSN will try ANYTHING to help sell new cars and put poeple in debt.

Do people actually buy Chevy Sparks? GM should be cutting back on their advertising dollars, they could be needing it for recall repairs and law suits.

Sure, why not have a death trap as your first  car.

1st car........ 1970 Plymouth Duster.  340 with 2 4-barrels and a 4 speed

driving at high school graduation..   A 1969 SS396 Chevelle

at college graduation......  1970 Challanger

etc.  All bought used and didn't give more than $700 for any of them

Wife's first car .... 1967 SS396 Camaro Convertible (she bought it when she turned 16 in October of '72 with money she made from a couple years of summer jobs)

etc

But it was a different time back then.  As bad as the economy sucked in the 70's, especially under jimmy carter, the cars, the clothes, the music, and just life in general was SO much cooler, more relaxed and fun than now.  I got a good life, but I see so much stress around me that wasn't there 40 years ago.  And part of it is people struggling to pay $30,000 (or more) for pieces of crap cars like most of the ones shown in the above article.  Sigh.  Think I'll walk down to the beach.....

Have a great 4th everyone.  And remember the courage it took for our forefathers to make the stand that they did.
