say ramrod-
You really think that 300 horsepower lexus can roll with a 400+ horsepower mustang? You gotta be smoking dope man, it wont even come close to running what these new mustangs can cut the 1/4mile.
12s stock. I own one and its one of the most refined engines that ford has put out this decade.
You really should put down the keyboard when your puffing

Say what you will about american made "junk" .. I have an 04 CTS with 170k on the dial ... best car I have ever owned as far as driveability, low maint. costs, great handling and comfort. I have owned Toyota, BMW, Fiat, Peugot and Mercedes.
Every time I* take my car in for service, they try to get me into a new CTS, I just tell them that if they want to keep selling new ones, they should stop making them with such high quality and long term satisfaction. Just the opinion of a long time driver who is quite happy with his GM product. Oh and I pull my toy hauler with an F-250 ... works great for me.

Lets face it once upon a long, long, long, time european autos may have been all the rage but that fad is long gone, american cars are the way to go , if people would stop being so damned closed minded and take a look at what america is putting out the economy would definitely improve not immensely but just enough to get a jump start going , I have 5 Jeep GC that are still going strong with just routine maintenance and all of of them have surpassed the 300k mark and still going strong. so do Not give me that rhetorical BS that american cars suck, we are putting out some of the highest quality cars in years............

Best bang for the buck? Corvette ZR1 or ZO6 for that matter. Both outrun every car on the list with the exception of the Buggatti. Price 120000. I can't for the life of me figure out the car editors bias toward European autos. Check out the Nurenburgring performance test, Edmunds road test, Motor Trend, Car and driver. The american Dodge Viper, and both Corvettes blew away all of the models listed here. If you want to be taken seriously as an automobile advice column, start evaluating american autos and get off the Euro models. In most cases the dealers are hundreds of miles away from many potential buyers thereby making them un-practicle. I will get my advice elsewhere. Besides loving the Corvette it would not be practical for me to drive hundreds of miles to get my Porsche or Mercedes, oil changed by the dealer, (I'm not taking my car to the quick lube with high school kids changing my oil). McLaren, Porsche, Lexus, Audi, just because they cost hundredsof thousands more doesn't make them better. The americans have their faults but bang for buck isn't one of them.
