Mitsubishi i-MiEV Recalled

Faulty front and side airbags sensors to blame

By Chuck Tannert Aug 9, 2012 2:40PM

Mitsubishi Motors has issued a recall for its 2012 i-MiEV electric vehicles. According to documents filed with the the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the vehicle's curtain and side airbags might not deploy, or the front airbags might deploy late during a collision because of an incompatibility between the airbag sensors and the self-diagnostic software.

No injuries or accidents associated with the recall have been reported. However, Mitsubishi will replace the incompatible airbag sensors with new, compatible units, free of charge.

More than 260 vehicles are affected in the United States.

It should be recalled for ugliness alone.

Reminds me of a friend in the late '80s who was driving a Yugo.  He got pulled over for running a stop sign, and then the officer noticed he wasn't wearing a seat belt and was going to write him up for that as well.  My friend said, "Officer, I am driving a Yugo.  If I hit anything, I am going to die anyway, so what's the point?"

The officer only wrote him up for the stop sign.

The only shocking revelation of this article was that they managed to sell 260 of these ugly things.

People actually buy this thing?  Why are most electric cars so butt-ugly anyway?

What difference would it make? Look at this wimpy piece of sh*t, if you got hit or drove this moron vehicle into a bridge abutment  (even at a WEAK 30mph) what friggin'  difference would it make?
You hypocritical eco rice fools are idiots.
