Honda Crosstour Concept to be Unveiled in New York
New crossover is likely to stick closely to its predecessor's quirky design.
A concept version of Honda's 2013 Crosstour will be unveiled at the 2012 New York Auto Show next month. Few details were revealed when the automaker made the announcement, but given Honda’s pattern of debuting concepts that stick close to the final production version, it’s likely that the next generation of the crossover will look very similar.
Because it’s relatively new, don’t expect a dramatic redesign -- which may or may not be a good thing, given the quirky crossover’s lukewarm reception since its 2009 debut.
Adding to its aesthetic impairments is its poor rear visibility and a stingy cargo area. Since the Crosstour’s launch, Honda has added a fuel-sipping 4-cylinder engine, largely in response to rivals such as the Toyota Venza offering the option.
Like Toyota, Honda has been in a bit of a sales slump/design slide of late, rushing out a redesign of its formerly hot-selling Civic, for example. But we’ll reserve our opinion on the coming Crosstour until Honda pulls the wraps off of it in the Big Apple in two weeks' time.

Gotta disagree with you on this one IRN. Toyota has blown Honda out of the water with the Camry vs. the Accord, Corolla vs. the Civic, Highlander vs. the Pilot and the 4Runner vs. the Pathfinder.
The Accord is vastly superior to the Camry. The Civic is INFINITELY superior to the Corolla (come on now, that one isn't even close). The Pilot is superior to the Highlander in interior space and comfort (which are the most important features in a 3-row crossover). And Honda doesn't make the Pathfinder.
The only other area where I would rank Toyota ahead is the Prius vs. the Insight (how did you forget that one?????).
It's almost like the designers are playing circular me-too, trying to decide who can come up with the most ridiculous contours. How the #$*! can anyone see outta these things? Oh yeah, I forgot. Backup video camera - $800 extra, please. The only thing I can say is that it isn't as bad as a Veloster, but that ain't much.
OMG, the Chevy Citation has returned, only with Honda quality now! I loved my old Citation, it was fuel efficient, great in the snow and was fairly versatile with it's roomy rear area. It did however have lots of quality issues.

I just don't get the point of this car, I find it very ungainly looking. I don't see too many of them around though, it's nice to see that people still have a little taste.
