Scion iQ Electric Vehicle Spotted
By Graham Kozak
Autoweek reader Ed Kim spotted this electric Scion iQ EV while charging his Chevrolet Volt in Torrance, Calif. The electric iQ EV looks very similar to its conventionally powered counterpart, but unique wheel covers, “EV” badges, two-tone paint and a smoothed-over grille set it apart from the standard car.
The charging station in the pictures is located in front of the Toyota USA Automobile Museum. Kim reports that a Scion employee affixed a manufacturer plate to the iQ EV before driving it off the property. This explains the lack of license plates seen on the car in the photos.
If the prospect of an electric iQ has you excited, prepare yourself for disappointment: Toyota has reported that the limited number of iQ EVs headed stateside will be made available for fleet sales only.
