Ford Recalling 10,500 Vehicles for Reverse Gear Problems

F-150, Expedition, Mustang and Lincoln Navigator are among the affected models.

Ford F-150 (c) MSN AutosFord is recalling 10,500 trucks and cars for a faulty transmission sensor that could either not engage reverse gear or allow the vehicle to reverse without back-up lights, according to a filing on Tuesday with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall affects certain models of the 2011 and 2012 F-150, 2012 Expedition, 2012 Lincoln Navigator, and 2012 and 2013 Mustang. Ford has issued a stop-sale on vehicles that have not been fixed with a new transmission range sensor. In certain cases, Ford says the "R" in the "PRNDL" gear sequence won't light up by the shifter or display on the instrument panel.

The recall will begin in late June. Ford and Lincoln owners can call 1-866-436-7332 for more details.

In January, Ford recalled 569 Expedition and Navigator models for inadequate welds holding the right rear passenger head restraint.

MY FORD,   nothing but problems since day one when I bought it brand new.  My used Toyota and my girlfriends Camry purchased used, no problems.

it is a shame that that the people on here can back toyota camry, and the rest of their cars, that want stop accelrating abnd kill people, and gm goes bankrupt, and all their cars look alike, and have all kinds of problems, but never forget that ford cannot be called goverment motors, and they can't be accused of going bankrupt, and have the best looking cars on the road, but idiots buy toyota's that kill and shouldnot be allowed in the uUSA if they are not going to sell American cars there, and sell their junk at a lower price so they can claim that they make the best cars, however never forget pearl harbor!

No big suprise on this one my father in law has been having multiple problems with his 2010 F-150 and this being one of them.
