1928 Mercedes-Benz 680S Saoutchik Torpedo Wins Best of Show at Pebble Beach
This elegant Mercedes took top honors at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
More than 220 entries made for an extremely competitive field this year at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, but the 1928 Mercedes-Benz 680S Saoutchik Torpedo owned by Paul and Judy Andrews of White Settlement, Texas, was ultimately declared Best of Show.
Andrews was so surprised at winning this coveted award he was visibly shaken. This was the Andrews’ fourth year entering cars in the competition. To win Best of Show after such a relatively short time period is an impressive feat. Often entrants bring cars for many years -- sometimes decades -- before finally winning the top award.
Check with us again later today for further details about the winning Mercedes, as well as the runners-up in all the vehicle classes.
