Ford Recalls 140,000 Focus Models for Wiper Failure

A windshield wiper motor could fail on certain 2012 models.

By Clifford Atiyeh Apr 9, 2012 10:49AM
2012 Ford Focus, (c) MSN AutosFord will recall 140,310 models of the 2012 Focus to fix a possible missing seal that protects the windshield wiper motor, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said today.

The electrical connector for the passenger-side wiper motor could become exposed to water or road debris, disabling the wipers. Ford dealers will begin the recall in late May, either replacing the seal or both the seal and wiper motor if necessary. Focus models manufactured after Oct. 11, 2011, are not affected.

Focus owners can call Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 or the NHTSA safety hot line at 1-888-327-4236 for more information.

If the car is missing a critical item like this, one has to wonder what else is missing.

It could be worse, like the defective airbags on Hondas and Acuras that will kill you.
