Honda Recalls CR-V to Fix Control-Arm Problem
By Jake Lingeman

Honda is recalling about 1,300 copies of the 2006 CR-V to inspect and possibly replace the right-front lower control arm.
Honda says that the part could have been made with an improper welding process. Over time the control arm could break at the weld. If that happens the steering would be affected, possibly resulting in a crash.
Honda will begin notifying owners in mid-April and is encouraging them to take their cars to an authorized dealer as soon as possible. Owners can find out if their cars are affected by going to www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (800) 999-1009.
Honda says no crashes or injuries have been reported that were related to the problem.

Just Great,
Good point. I think its because people have come to expect Detroit recalls whereas when a manufacturer such as Honda has one, it's more shock and awe journalism due to their much better than Detroit recall record. By reading the below posts, there's also a fair amount of displacement from Detroit fans.
Hey on another note GM has a recall going to. Where is that one?
DETROIT (AP) - General Motors is recalling more than 6,000 big vans and SUVs because their steering can fail.
The recall affects certain 2012 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans, and Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon XL SUVs.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on its website Saturday that a gear shaft can break, causing a loss of steering. GM says no crashes or injuries have been reported.
The problem was discovered in testing by the company that makes the gear shafts. GM says failure won't happen until the vehicles have been in service for at least 5 months under severe use.
The vans carry up to 15 passengers and are used widely by churches and airport shuttle services.
GM dealers will inspect the steering gear shaft and replace it if necessary.
