Honda Recalls CR-V to Fix Control-Arm Problem
By Jake Lingeman

Honda is recalling about 1,300 copies of the 2006 CR-V to inspect and possibly replace the right-front lower control arm.
Honda says that the part could have been made with an improper welding process. Over time the control arm could break at the weld. If that happens the steering would be affected, possibly resulting in a crash.
Honda will begin notifying owners in mid-April and is encouraging them to take their cars to an authorized dealer as soon as possible. Owners can find out if their cars are affected by going to www.recalls.honda.com or by calling (800) 999-1009.
Honda says no crashes or injuries have been reported that were related to the problem.

If this were a Ford, we'd still have 4 more years before the secret dealer only recall was leaked...
Yeah, just like the one for all those defective Honda/Acura transmission that have plagued that manufacturer for the last 8 years. Along with the secret extended warranty given to customers who complained loud enough long enough. The rest got stuck with a bill from Honda for a new/rebuilt tranny and were never told that others got it for free. Lousy business ethics on Honda's part.If this were a Ford, we'd still have 4 more years before the secret dealer only recall was leaked... As an example. .like the F150 fuel tank linings that have caused problems for 10 years was just announced in a lawsuit. Yes.....a lawsuit. Consumer safety wasn't important until then.
Honda at least stood up to the plate and recalled these vehicles even though NO, NADA, ZERO crashes have occured. Kudos for Honda for doing the right thing........even 6 years later.
