Nissan Recalling 26,000 Trucks Over a Sticker
Certain Armada and Titan models have doorjamb stickers without the required tire sizes.
Nissan is recalling 26,626 full-size Titan pickups and Armada SUVs because of certification labels that are missing tire-size information, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said this week. Those labels, typically on the driver's side doorjamb, usually display a vehicle's tire size, weight rating, seating capacity and manufacturing location. In mid-May, Nissan dealers will peel off the old sticker and slap on a new one. Or they can lay it over the current sticker. Either way, the recall affects only 2012 models. An earlier sticker recall also involved the Titan, that time for stating the truck seated six people when it really had room for only five.
NHTSA says this: "The omission of the rim size may lead to an incorrect tire/wheel combination which may increase the likelihood of a crash."
Not that anyone would throw 26-inch rims on a Titan or 30s on an Armada without reading the label first, right?
