Get a Free PlayStation Vita with the Scion iQ
Offer sweetens the deal on the latest Scion, but put the PS Vita down while driving.
If you buy a new 2012 Scion iQ between now and July 31, Scion will throw in a free PlayStation Vita portable entertainment system to sweeten the deal, while supplies last (of the PS Vita, that is).
With its OLED high-definition touch screen, rear touch pad, twin cameras, dual-axis motion sensor, GPS capability and 3G connectivity, the PS Vita is as full-featured as most automotive infotainment systems. And also as potentially distracting.
Given that the target market for the iQ is “trendsetting generation of urban drivers,” according to Scion, and likely gaming and technology enthusiasts, what’s to stop them from checking out their new PS Vita on the drive home from the dealership? Maybe adding technology similar to those that stop drivers from texting would help.
This isn’t the first Scion-PS Vita hook-up. MotorStorm RC included the iQ as an in-game vehicle option when it was originally released in March as a limited-time free download to PS Vita owners.
