Recall: Ford Fusion for hazy low-beam headlights
It's the second recall in one week for the new 2013 Fusion.
Ford is recalling 19,106 Fusion sedans to fix low-beam headlights that could become hazy, according to filings with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
An "improperly cured projector coating" on the headlamps of 2013 Fusion models could dull over time and block the light, Ford said. In October, the company found that some headlamps were dimming as a result of exposure to their own heat.
Dealers will replace the headlight assembly starting Dec. 10. Owners can call Ford at 1-866-436-7332.
This is the Fusion's second recall this week after engine fires prompted Ford to recall 15,833 models along with more than 70,000 2013 Escape models. At least 13 fires have been reported to Ford, and all but one have occurred in Escape models
I don't get nearly as concerned about a hazy headlight as I do about steering wheels coming off, air bags smashing you in the face while driving, axles breaking in half, wheels falling off, brake lines getting rubbed through etc., THOSE are the kind of recalls that are inexcusable, not faulty switches, hazy headlights, trunk latch problems etc.
5 recalls already !
Unsolved ENGINE FIRES !
Quality wasn`t job 1 on my 87 ranger , and it still isn`t.
Once again ford is building quality vehicles for the American Public to enjoy..... I feel sorry for the poor suckers who purchase these pieces of crap.
