Forget Frankfurt

Toyota to reveal 2010 4Runner

By Joshua Condon Aug 28, 2009 8:54AM
The problem with Frankfurt, apparently, is that it’s not filled with enough Americans.

As Autoweek reports, Toyota will soon be unveiling its newest 4Runner model -- the fifth generation should boast more passenger space and interior amenities -- but unlike some new rides from BMW and MINI, its world debut will not be at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show.

Rather, its Sept. 24 reveal will be held somewhere a little closer to the homes of the 4Runner demographic: The Texas State Fair, in Dallas. And while the Lone Star State’s annual exhibition may not get the same attention as the Teutonic one across the pond, it’s a major show in its own right. The fair has been presenting new models since 1904, and has grown into a 300,000-square-foot spectacle taking up three separate buildings, displaying models from Cadillac, Ford, GM, Lexus, Nissan, and Subaru, to name a few.
