Nissan Owners Take Note

26,000 Altimas and Maximas recalled

By Joshua Condon Sep 18, 2009 11:11AM
If you own a 2009 or 2010 Nissan Altima or Maxima, it's time to schedule some maintenance. Due to a higher cracking risk for upper strut insulators -- which "could affect vehicle stability and increase the risk of a crash” according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration -- 26,000 Altimas and Maximas are being recalled.

The recall is scheduled to begin around Oct. 5. Left- and right-side front strut insulators will be replaced free.

Nissan will reach out to affected owners, but if you have any questions or concerns, you can contact Nissan directly at 1-800-NISSAN1 (1-800-647-7261).
