Sin City's Annual Celebration of All Things Automotive
The makers of aftermarket auto parts and accessories invade Las Vegas for the 2009 SEMA Show, displaying all of their latest wares and automotive creations.
Gearheads rejoice: The Specialty Equipment Market Association's annual auto show -- celebrating everything horsepower, torque, bling, mods and more -- is back in Las Vegas.A million square feet of floor space at the Las Vegas Convention Center will be devoted to customized new models from Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Kia, Lexus, Nissan, Scion and Suzuki -- not to mention the myriad booths showcasing the newest and best in add-ons, customization and gadgets.
This year's featured marque is Ford, so look for an extra-impressive showing from that brand (Ford has already wowed with a customized Cobra Jet Mustang, pictured).
Organizers say one difference from past shows (aside from a bit of economy-related attendance downturn) is a larger focus on eco-friendly technologies rather than straight horsepower; the booth dedicated to green technologies will be noticeably larger this year than last, which was its first.
The SEMA show isn't open to the public, so check out MSN Auto's full coverage of the speed, tricks and outrageous custom jobs here.
