Breaking News:
Toyota to recall almost 100,000 vehicles
due to potential brake-assist failures at low temperatures.
When operated in cold weather, the brake system port on affected models -- 2009 and 2010 Corollas and Matrixes, and 2008 and 2009 Scion xDs -- may accumulate ice, which decreases braking power and thereby increases the time it takes to stop the vehicle.
The recall does not include every vehicle from the noted make and model years, only those registered in the following 19 cold-weather states: Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
We’re awaiting a return call from Toyota for comment. Stay tuned.
