Chevrolet Plays the Name Game with Paint Color for Upcoming Volt
By Greg Migliore
We know the Chevrolet Volt is going to be green, but what color will it be?
Chevy is staging a contest to officially name the color of the Volt, and it's down to three finalists: EV-ergreen, environMINT and Viridian Joule. Two of the names were submitted by California residents, and one came from Florida.
Consumers can now vote at www.chevroletvoltage.com through 8 a.m. Eastern on Dec. 1 to choose the winner. The person who submitted the winning name will get to test-drive a preproduction Volt.
The Chevy Volt is the much-anticipated extended range vehicle due by the end of next year. It will be able to travel 40 miles on a single electrical charge, before a generator kicks in to extend the capability to more than 300 miles. Chevy has said the car could get 230 miles per gallon.
