
Hands-on with Garmin Suzuki Infotainment System
Debut at the New York International Auto Show displays how car technology is trickling down.
We mentioned in Monday's post that we would get a hands-on demo while in New York. While the system doesn't have the slickest graphics and Garmin's mapping display looks a bit dated, it does boast all the latest tech must-haves: Bluetooth hands-free for phone and music streaming, iPod integration, Pandora Internet radio and, of course, navigation. But it also provides connected-car features such as the ability to find parking spaces and report on weather in real time, and it includes a voice-activated text messaging feature.
